Good-bye to Fairyland

t’s true…

We’re saying good-bye to fairyland and the young maiden who wandered there! If you’ve been able to read I Wanted to Tell You Something: Fairytales on Substack, in hard copy, or both, the story is officially over — thank you for joining me for the journey!

If this is the FIRST you’re hearing about the story, you can download a free sample here. 🙂 I’d like to introduce you to what’s coming next (THIS Friday!), but first, I have a quick announcement and a favor to ask…

Do Me a Favor?

I Wanted to Tell You Something: Fairytales is now on Amazon in both hardback and Kindle ebook editions! Special edition hardbacks are sold out. (Those were the ones with the dust jacket and premium print materials.) But you can now get a standard hardback in a jiffy if you have yet to get a copy or want one to share!

So, would you do me a favor? Since the book is new on Amazon, it could really use some reviews. If you bought a book or read online — or a child in your life is enjoying the book — would you jump over there right now and write a quick review or leave a simple star rating? (You can still leave a review if you did not purchase on Amazon!)

This would really mean a lot to me — and it would be a huge help in getting the word out about this book! (If you haven’t started / finished reading, there’s no rush; but if you enjoy it, I would sincerely welcome your review!) Thank you to everyone who has left a review so far!!

Now, About That New Story…

I’ll be writing a new story on Substack throughout 2026 that I’d like to publish at the end of the year. (Actually, I’d like to write and publish two books this year, but more on that later!)

We’re leaving the fairy woods and going back in time — into ancient history, during the days of Homer. This story will put a spin on tales and characters you know from Greek mythology. It’s called Epiphany.

Here’s a preview:

Icarus died flying too close to the sun… but that isn’t the whole story.

Icarus’s demise has serious implications for his betrothed: Epiphany, a servant girl in the house of an Athenian nobleman. As Icarus’s father Daedalus withdraws in his grief, Epiphany is tormented by her loss, having no other family — and now, no real future.

In the midst of Epiphany’s despair, the legendary musician Orpheus visits her in a dream, recounting the tale of how he nearly succeeded in bringing his deceased wife back from the depths of Tartarus. Obsessed with the idea of resurrection, Epiphany embarks on a journey to the edge of the world to lead Icarus out of the land of Hades, no matter what it takes. But her fateful voyage into the ether of existence sets off a catastrophic chain of events that will shake the world of humans, gods, and monsters forever.

Chapter one, “As I Stand Condemned,” releases this Friday at 6am.

As an avid fan of CS Lewis, I’m inspired by his classic work Till We Have Faces, which is a retelling of the myth of Eros and Psyche. I hope you’ll join me for my reimagining of a mix of tales in the Greek mythological world; I think it’s going to be quite a ride!

Grateful for you… so much more to come!
